Violation

Bar clasp and circumferential clasp arms are similar in that both 1. terminate in a retentive undercut lying gingival to the height of contour. 2. originate from the framework and approach the tooth undercut area from a gingival direction. 3. provide retention by the resistance of metal to deformation rather than frictional resistance of parallel walls. 4. originate above the height of contour, traverse a portion of the suprabulge and approach the tooth undercut from an occlusal direction.
